A new panoramic lookout was opened in the Plitvice Lakes National Park and the unique ticket of the Lika destination was presented

first_imgYesterday, the newly built panoramic lookout tower located at Entrance 1 of the National Park was ceremoniously opened in the Public Institution “Plitvice Lakes National Park”. The new lookout will relieve the extremely well-visited existing lookout point and enable a larger number of visitors to enjoy one of the most beautiful views in the world – the view of the Great Waterfall.The director of the Plitvice Lakes National Park, Tomislav Kovačević, emphasized that the lookout was completely built by the employees of the National Park specializing in the maintenance and construction of paths and bridges within the Park, which he is extremely proud of. “Plitvice Lakes is a well-represented and valorized phenomenon that is admired by the whole world, which is best shown by the continuous increase in the number of visitors, especially visitors from Japan, whose number has increased by more than 40% this year. Also, it is important to note that out of the total number of tourists who visit the Republic of Croatia, 10% of them visit the Plitvice Lakes National Park. I am glad that the National Park and the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Energy are cooperating in planning the renovation of infrastructure, especially hotels and other accommodation facilities, because it is known that guests staying in four or five star hotels stay in Croatia for a month longer than guests staying in lower quality facilities ” the minister pointed out  tourism Cappelli.Unique ticket to Lika destinationOn the occasion of the opening of the lookout, Tomislav Kovačević, director of the Plitvice Lakes National Park, presented the joint ticket of Lika destinacije, which is part of a unique project of sustainable tourism development and destination branding in Croatia.Lika destination ticket which, in addition to visiting the Plitvice Lakes National Park, allows visitors to visit other protected areas and sights within Lika destination – Paklenica National Park, Northern Velebit National Park, Velebit Nature Park (Zavratnica Bay and Cerovac Caves), Grabovača Cave Park and Barać Caves , The Croatian Center for Indigenous Fish and Crab Species of Karst Waters and the Nikola Tesla Memorial Center. “The joint ticket project was implemented in accordance with the principles of sustainable development that guide the Plitvice Lakes National Park, continuously strengthening cooperation with the local community and stakeholders outside the National Park. pointed out Tomislav Kovačević, director of the Plitvice Lakes National Park.The joint ticket is on sale from July 1, 2018 at the points of sale of the Plitvice Lakes National Park (Entrance 1, Entrance 2 and Flora), and vouchers for visiting protected nature areas and sights can be used by visitors until October 31, 2018. The ticket is available at a price of 300 kn for adults and 200 kn for children (7-18 years).
