first_imgJob DescriptionThe Virginia Tech group on applied neutrino science isseeking applicants for one post-doctoral research position innuclear non-proliferation broadly defined, with a focus on novelapplications of neutrinos in this area. A Ph.D. in physics, nuclearengineering or related disciplines by the start date is required,and a demonstrated ability to carry out independent research isexpected.This position is available starting Fall 2019 and is renewable forup to three years duration in total, depending on performance. Theposition is part of a consortium for Monitoring, Technology andVerification (MTV) funded by the U.S. DOE National NuclearSecurity Administration. The MTV comprises 14 universities and and12 national laboratories and the successful candidate will have theopportunity for extended research stays at participatinginstitutions.The applied neutrino science group is led by Dr. Patrick Huber andhosted within the Center for Neutrino Physics that consists of morethan a dozen fac ulty in both theory andexperiment.
